CaliforniaCarbon.info, December 21, 2015: At the end of last week, ARB issued the official auction notice and schedule for the 6th joint WCI auction of allowances on February 17, 2016.
10,078,750 V19 allowances will enter the market for the first time in the advance auction. In the current auction 71,555,827 allowances will be offered, 1,611,318 of which are V13 and V14 leftovers from previous uncovered Quebec auctions. The auction reserve price will be set at $12.73 USD and $12.82 CAD for California and Quebec, respectively. The February delivery of V16 is currently trading marginally above this floor at $12.88.
The deadline for auction applicants is 18th of January; the auction results will be announced on the 24th of February – a week after the auction’s conclusion.
