(Source: Financial Times) Contemporary Amperex Technology, or CATL, was founded in 2011 and in the lead-up to its $2bn initial public offering claimed to be the world’s largest electric vehicle battery maker. The company, which sold 10 per cent of its capital as part of the listing, previously said global car companies including BMW and Volkswagen were among its customers, as well as major Chinese producers including SAIC Motor, BAIC Group, Geely, Dongfeng Motor, and Changan Auto.
